Moulton Magpies 0-3 Wellingborough Town NTFA Cup - Semi Final

Scorers: Ash Talbot, Aaron Rowell, Kurt Barber

Team: Chris Brockwell 9, Ollie Tilley 9, Joe McGill 9 , Ashley Talbot 9, Oliver Clifford 9, Kurt Barber 9, Elliott Hornby 9, Jared Harewood 9, James Dryden 9 (Dave Harris 9), Sam Walpole 9, Aaron Rowell 9 (Dan Mason 9)– Jake Dickins, AJ Bradbury

Report:  A fantastic result for Wellingborough Town Football Club against Moulton in the Semi-final. Taking the lead through an Ash Talbot free kick, Wellingborough pressed forward in numbers. Ollie Tilley and James Dryden’s fine work lead to a further goal at the far post from Aaron Rowell. HT 2-0.

The second half started as the first finished with Wellingborough Town Football Club pushing forward and Moulton relying on some counter attacks. Chris Brockwell in the Wellingborough goal dealt safely with the few attempts Moulton had, although we were fortunate that one effort was blazed over from close range, albeit at a tight angle.
With the defence solid, our midfield was full of running and providing penetrating passes, matched by the lively forwards Jared and Kurt it wasn’t long before they got their rewards when a fine volley from Barber sealed a fine victory.

FT 3 -0

Report:
Wellingborough Town pressurised Wootton from the start. With some fine crosses coming into the box it was no surprise when Hornby found the net from the edge of the box with a great strike. The pressure continued with WTFC adding to further goals from Barber and Talbot, Barber’s a great strike into the corner. Wootton had moments on the counter attack but WTFC defence coped well. The second half started like the first with WTFC pressing the Wootton goal. Walpole went on a mazy run and hit a wonder left foot shot into the roof of the net to make it 4-0. Dickins completed the scoring with a deft header from a Talbot free kick.

Wellingborough Town  1– 1 Parklands Tigers

Scorers: James Dryden

Team: Chris Brockwell 7, Joe McGill 8 , Ashley Talbot 8, Oliver Clifford 7, Kurt Barber 7, Elliott Hornby 8, Jared Harewood 7, James Dryden 8 (AJ Bradbury), Sam Walpole 8, Jake Dickins 7, Aaron Rowell 7

Scorers: James Dryden,
MOM:

Report:  It was a disappointing result for Wellingborough Town.

Taking the lead through a James Dryden header after a fine cross from Joe McGill Wellingborough Town stopped passing and moving.

To their credit Parklands threw everything at them. It was always going to be a tight, tense game.

A penalty in the second half should have put the game beyond Parklands, but the keeper made a good save from Ollie Clifford’s attempt. This rallied the visitors, and from a long throw Brockwell was caught out and Barber failed to clear and the ball ended up in the net.

No complaints from Wellingborough Town however disappointed, it was a game we had won, but Parklands battled until the end and got the equaliser in the final minute. FT 1-1.

Oliver Clifford 9 (Matt Gillmartin 9), Elliott Hornby 9, Jared Harewood 8, James Dryden 9, Jared Harewood 9 (Kurt Barber 9), Jake Dickins 9, Sam Walpole 9

Scorers: Aaron Rowell, Ash Talbot

Report:  A good win for Wellingborough Town against their closest rivals.

Wellingborough Town got off to a flyer when Aaron Rowell scored after 26seconds. After this the game was end to end. Played at a fast pace there were strong tackles and commitment from both sides. It was difficult to play on a tricky surface, but the there credit both teams entertained. A slight error by the otherwise dependable Chris Brockwell allowed Moulton to level.

Hornby and Walpole were strong in midfield, Wellingborough Town defence was solid and steady, wide men Aaron and James worked very hard and always looked dangerous. Upfront Jake and Kurt held the ball up well and fought well against a strong Moulton Defence.

A nail-biting finish prevailed. With 5 mins remaining skipper Ash Talbot went forward for a corner and rose high to head in at the far post…fantastic stuff –

Well done to all those who participated.

From the start Wellingborough Town took the game to Stars.

Driven on by Walpole and Harewood in midfield it didn’t take long to open the scoring. Wellingborough Town dominated and moved the ball quickly. Solid in defence, pace and strength throughout the team a depleted Stars team found the going tough.

Although credit to them for the attitude they showed.

Dickins claimed the glory with 4, supported by Barber, Rowell, Harewood and a rare Ollie Tilley strike.

Good passing and movement resulting in a good team display.

Report:
What a contrast a week makes. Wellingborough Town coasted into a 3-0 lead.

All the goals results of fine crosses with Kurt, Aaron and James finishing them off.

The second half wasn’t so inspiring, poor passing and too many individuals doing their own thing, Wellingborough Town battled well enough to deny Wootton any further goals.
