SNOODS
The International Football Association Board held their Annual meeting at the Celtic Manor Hotel in Newport, Wales on Saturday 5th March.
At that meeting it was decided that Snoods (Neck Scarves) that some players wear could constitute a danger to themselves if an opponent pulled them and were not part of the Basic Equipment as outlined under Law 4 – Players Equipment.
Therefore, with immediate effect players are not allowed to wear these garments.

NORTHANTS FA - SOCIAL NETWORKING (FACEBOOK / TWITTER / BEBO etc)
I am writing to clarify The FA’s position in relation to comments made by Participants on social networking sites including, but not limited to, Twitter and Facebook as well as internet blogs.
The FA would make clear that comments made on such internet sites may be considered public comment and that further to FA Rule E3 any comments which are improper, bring the game into disrepute or are threatening, abusive, indecent or insulting may lead to disciplinary action.
We would particularly stress that comments which are personal in nature or could be construed as offensive, use foul language or contain direct or indirect threats aimed at other Participants are likely to be considered improper. Participants are required to act in the best interest of the game at all times and should be aware of this when using social networking websites. Furthermore, we would advise Participants to be aware that postings on social networking sites which they believe are only visible to a limited number of selected people may still end up in the public domain and consequently, care should be taken with the content of such postings.
In addition we would remind Participants that social networking postings could also lead to civil proceedings being brought by affected parties.

END OF SEASON PRESENTATION
Wellingborough Town Youth Section end of season presentations will take place this Sunday May 15th from 11:00 at Wellingborough Town FC.
All of our Age groups will play each other in a final match of the season and awards will be handed out following this. The pitch times are as follows:

SIGNING ON
Signing on forms have now been given out to all coaches to distribute to their teams. Each player that is invited so sign on will need to complete a Weetabix League Signing on Form and Wellingborough Town medical form. Only Under 7’s and Under 11’s need to supply two passport photographs.
The registration fee will remain £20 as it has for the last three seasons.
Player Registrations need to be completed and returned by July.
GIRLS ONLY FOOTBALL
The first Wellingborough Town FC girls only session took place on Saturday May 8th and was a great success.

PHIL CHOWNEY – WELLINGBOROUGH TOWN UNDER 16
It is with regret that Wellingborough Town Youth Section has announced that The Club will not be entering an Under 16 team next season.
Phil Chowney announced that following a recent meeting with his players, many had decided not to play next season which left him with just eight players. Phil though this left him in an untenable position. Phil has been with The Club since it was formed in 2004 and Wellingborough Town would like to thank Phil for all of the hard work and time that he has devoted to developing his players over the last seven years.
Wellingborough Town Youth Section would also like to thank Liam Chowney, Rhys Griffiths, Conor Davies & Jack Jones, all of whom have played in Phil’s teams since they were formed at Under 9.

That’s what the organisers of Non-League Day are urging fans to do today when international action means a mini-break for the top 44 teams across the country.
There are no games in the Premier League or Championship so it’s a perfect opportunity to attract supporters at a lower level. Hopefully the crowd figures will go up for clubs who really need extra income.
Special offers, particularly those for season-ticket holders at bigger clubs, should make a difference. There is even a ground hop which would allow you to see three games for a total entry of under £40 per adult – less than it often costs to watch 90 minutes in the top flight.
There are always plenty of options across the county to see a match in the ChromaSport & Trophies United Counties League. Non-League football might not offer much in terms of quality but there is plenty of value out there. Traditionally you would think about standing on the terraces, mixing with supporters and enjoying an afternoon at affordable prices. So the message behind Non-League Day is one to be applauded. Let’s hope it pays off.
Personally, I was already planning a visit to this game where the 100 per cent league record of Wellingborough Town will come up against Spalding United. Before a transfer to Northamptonshire nearly 15 years ago, I kicked off my career at the Spalding Guardian and Lincolnshire Free Press which meant covering the Tulips among other duties. This will be the first time I’ve seen Spalding in action since those days in the press box at the Sir Halley Stewart Field. Enjoy the game

On Saturday October 15th Wellingborough Town Football Club play their 300th 1st team fixture against Irchester United. It would be great to see as may Wellingborough Town Youth Section Players and parents down at the ground to mark the occasion. Under 16's get in for Free!
To mark the occasion, we will be holding a special exhibition mini soccer match between Wellingborough Town Under 10 Lions v Wellingborough Town Under 10 Tigers. The exhibition match kicks off at 13:00 with a Prize Penalty Shoot out at 1/2 time.

SEASON START DATE
The new season will Kick Off on Saturday September 10th for Under 7 / Under 8 teams and Sunday September 11th for all other teams.
The fixtures will be passed to Managers once released from the league.
WELLINGBOROUGH TOWN FUNDAY
Wellingborough Town Youth Section will be hosting our pre season funday on Sunday September 4th at The Dog & Duck Stadium. All Wellingborough Town Youth Section teams will have the opportunity to play a friendly match on the main pitch or training pitch.
