Goals Scored - 77 Conceded – 16

This was an excellent 1st season for a team that came together in July/August 2007. We suffered just 1 defeat and played to a high standard all season with good passing and movement a signature of our playing style. All the boys who played for the team this season should feel proud of there efforts and should look forward to better things next season.

Coach’s Report

Corey Bilson-Edwards: Corey had a solid 1st season playing mostly in midfield and attack. He contributed with a couple of goals at crucial times and is a popular member of the squad where his sense of humour always managed to keep the teams spirits up. Improved throughout the season.

Lewis Carr: Lewis made a useful contribution in all positions. He played quite a few games in goal where he performed well making a number of crucial saves. He also filled in well in midfield and attack and should feel happy with how his game has progressed this year.

Jack Daldy: I think everybody who has watched the u7’s side this year would say that Jack has been outstanding in almost every game we played. He is a strong runner, dribbles well and has an accurate shot. He was our top goal scorer playing from defence! An excellent 1st season.

Cameron Elliot: Cameron had a good 1st season and has improved steadily week on week. He is a tough tackling midfielder who can spot a pass and chipped in with a few goals as a bonus. A good listener and team player.

Benjamin Galloway: I thought Ben was a little shy when we started the season, as the games went by he gained in confidence and got more involved and finished the season in strong fashion contributing with a couple of match winning  goals. He should feel proud of the progress he has made this year.

Keegan Giles: Keegan made a significant contribution to the team this year performing the role of the midfield lynchpin tying things together. Scored a number of good goals and helped keep the goals against column to a minimum. A strong member of the team.

Jordan lee Holmes: Playing mostly in midfield Jordan showed week in week out that little bit of gritty toughness that every good midfield needs. He along with everyone else got better as the season went on, and should feel proud of the contribution he made to a successful 1st season.

Harvey Lewis: Harvey started the season in goal where he did well. We moved things around to ensure that everyone had a chance in open play and Harvey proved to be a tough high energy midfielder capable of scoring from distance. Harvey also improved as the season went on and is well set for the future.

Jaydon Taylor: Jaydon is a good all-round player, dangerous from the midfield where his passing and dribbling ability created many openings. He also showed a good understanding for the game and was the player I most relied on to listen to instruction. An excellent 1st season.

Kobi Wardell: Kobi had a very good 1st season where he proved himself to be a formidable attacking midfielder. He scored a number of crucial goals and his clever dribbles and passes led to countless others. Maybe needs to release the ball earlier on occasion, but should feel proud of the contribution he made this season.

In Conclusion we would just like to thank all the players for the efforts they made all season in both the matches and training, they have been a pleasure to train and manage. We would also like to thank the parents/relatives for their support over the season and look forward to your continued support in the seasons to come.

The boys have made excellent progress in their final year of “mini soccer” and have made not only me but every parent/supporter very proud of what we have achieved this season.

Some of the highlights of the season include: winning 3 games on the trot and giving some of the so called better teams a very good game of football.

You get a warm glow when someone not connected to the club comes up to you after a game and tells you how well the boys have played .

For me that has been the most pleasing and rewarding part of what we are trying to achieve.
So on to next season when we play competitive 11 a side football in the league and cup, I for one cannot wait.

With a few additional players and the boys progressing as they have done we should have a very good season.

Jacob Kearney GK – Another fantastic season, who has received great praise from the watching supporters. Great shot stopper and his distribution is first class.

Daniel Stapleton GK – Great first season, fantastic in 1 on 1 situation’s

Thomas O’ Key DEF – Captain fantastic as he is known. Strong tackler, excellent positional play, getting better all the time.

Kieran Loveridge DEF – Has made great progress this season. Strong tackler. Reading of the game is improving

Alex Wills MID – Skilful, fast and loads of tricks to take people on.

Elliot Gordon MID – Will run all day, strong tackler, links well with the forward line and helps out in defence.

Adam Payne MID – Great passer of the ball, very comfortable on the ball, a joy to watch

Drew Mistry.MID – Great first season, excellent first touch, high expectations for next season.

Mat Peasland MID – Skilful player, great first touch, and an excellent shot.

Malvin Somane MID- Very skilful, just has to be more confident and use his vast array of tricks more often.

Reece Croucher FOR – Excellent left foot, great eye for goal.

Ryan Payne FOR- Positional play excellent, great shot just has to believe in his ability.

I would like to thank each and every one of the parents for the great amount of encouragement and support they have given the team this season.

David for helping me out, listening and offering, advice when required. Martin for his help over the season with his training methods, words of wisdom and all round helpful nature.

My wife for putting up with me when results haven’t gone our way. Sorry Bettie love. Sat Mistry for finding the time to referee our home matches.

But most importantly the boys for being a pleasure to work with, I have seen them grow and progress in to potentially fine football players. Their enthusiasm for the game is excellent and their willingness to learn is first class.

Wellingborough Town Under 11’s have enjoyed their first year of competitive 11 A side football finishing a respectable 4th in a close competitive league.

If we can increase the depth or our squad over the summer, I am sure we will improve on this next season.
Joseph Core – GK: Was badly missed whilst injured early in the season.    Great shot stopper; looked tiny in the huge goals!
Brady Cole – Def: Missed much of season through injury strong presence when in defence.
Kaise John Lewis – Def:  Fast, strong, Fast, good in the air, Fast, superb attitude… Did I mention he is Fast?  Absolutely immense all season.

Our first season as Wellingborough Town has been a successful one after winning the league quite convincingly and reaching the Under 13’s league Cup semi final, which I thought we where very unlucky to lose.

The lads have worked very hard during training and have got their rewards.

We look forward to next season for a new and tougher challenge.

Jacob Humphries (GK)
A great shotstopper. Communicates well to his defence and is always full of encouragement for his team mates.

Jack Bromwich (DEF)
Strong in the tackle. Confident leader. Always gives a 100% for the team.

Jake Bennell (DEF)
Phenomenal pace, and use it well to run at players. Good Crosser.

Ben Nolan (DEF)
Team Captain. A very skilful player who strikes the ball with so much power. Takes an awesome free kick.

Adam Smith (DEF)
Strongest header in team which has been used to great effect in both penalty areas. Great attitude.

Luke Shanks (MID)
Tough in the tackle. Strong on the ball. Has scored some great goals.

Jonathan Clewer (MID)
A talented player. A creative attacking player. Keeps a cool head when taking penalties.

Luke Brealey-Linnell (MID)
A hardworking player who has a sweet left foot. Always looking to play balls into the danger area.

Robert McArdle (MID)
A pacey winger who has so often raced through on goal and unselfishly passed to the strikers. Has grown in confidence.

Joe Butterworth (FOR)
Excellent first touch. Creates goals for others as well as scoring them. Makes good use of hair gel!!

Cameron Farden (FOR)
Calm and composed. Great movement on and off the ball. Good passer who is such a cool finisher.

Thomas Williams (FOR/MID)
Plays in any position he is asked. A committed player who always gives 100%. Excellent attitude.

Ryan Smart (DEF/MID)
Big and strong. Has been a great addition to the team after joining us halfway through the season.

Daniel Simpson (FOR)
Quick. Skilful. Knows where the back of the net is. Sadly left us.

I would like to say a huge thank you to Andrea and Lyndsey for keeping parents informed of team matters, collecting subs, raising money for equipment, organising sponsorship and generally keeping the team together.  A big thank you to Cyclelife and NetworksRus for our Team Kit and Rain Jackets.

I would also like to thank Martin Patmore for helping me out with training, which he has taken many times when I am unavailable. Without Martins help we would have found it hard to have continued.

Thank you to Tony for being our team photographer, some great photos Tony....!!  Thanks to all parents who have helped out with running the line, putting up and taking down nets every week.

Finally, I would like to thank all the parents, grandparents and all other supporters for their fantastic support throughout the season.
